France

We went to France through the tunnel under Mont Blanc. That wasn’t the best idea because we drove for 14 hours. Waiting to enter the tunnel and so on. The ride was no longer fun after 6 hours.

When we finally arrived in Chamonix, we were overjoyed. So we walked through town and looked for a nice restaurant. I ordered the only thing there without cheese (because I’m not allowed to) and what happened? The dish was covered with cheese. Um…that wasn’t the best choice. But I wasn’t that bad. We continued walking through the city and in the evening we went to the town where we had an apartment. It was Annemasse. We walked in it in the evening, but this place is not touristy like Chamonix.

On our second day in France, we went on a hike to a lake called Lac Blanc. The lake is located on the opposite hill from the highest peak of Mont Blanc. We decided on a slightly longer and more difficult route. First, we took the gondola to La Flegera and from there we walked to the lake and back to the gondola. The route was 9 km long, we walked for about 4 hours. We stopped in between because it was beautiful sunshine and clouds, the landscape was really beautiful, and the path gradually went up and down. I have explored the lake before on Instagram, but it is slightly overrated. Everything else impressed me more than the lake itself. The path leads past many lakes, and different views on all sides of Chamonix, we also had to climb one part, as the path is only possible with the help of a metal ladder. When we were at the top and near the lake it was very windy and it felt like we were in the minus zone. Good thing we had plenty of clothes with us.

We took the gondola back to the valley, and walked through the town for souvenirs, of course, something sweet, and for that, we chose a bakery that was on the other side of town, but it was worth it. We returned to the apartment, got ready, and went to Geneva, which is only a few kilometers away. We left the car there and walked around town to the lake and then back to the car.

Odpravili sva se v Francijo po predoru pod Mont Blancom. No to ni bila najboljša ideja, saj sva se vozili kar 14 ur. Čakali na vstop na predor in tako naprej. Vožnja res ni bila več zabavna po 6 urah.

Ko sva končno prišli na Chamonix sva bili presrečni. Tako sva se sprehodili skozi mesto in poiskali ljubko restavracijo. Tam sem naročila edino stvar brez sira (ker ga ne smem) in kaj se je zgodilo? Jed je bila oblita s sirom. Hm…to ni bila najboljša izbira. Vendar mi ni bilo tako slabo. Nadaljevali sva s sprehodom skozi mesto in se v večernih urah odpravili v mesto, kjer sva imeli apartma. To je bilo Annemasse. V njem sva se sprehodili zvečer, vendar to mesto ni turistično kot Chamonix.

Drugi dan v Franciji sva se podali na pohod do jezera imenovanega Lac Blanc. Jezero se nahaja na nasprotnem hribu od najvišjega vrha Mont Blanc. Odločili sva se za malce daljšo in težjo pot. Najprej sva se z gondolo peljale do La Flegere in od tam naprej peš do jezera in nazaj do gondole. Pot je bila dolga 9 km, hodili sva približno 4 ure. Vmes sva se ustavljali, saj je bil prekrasen sonček in oblaki, pokrajina je bila res lepa, pot se je postopoma vzpenjala in spuščala. Jezero sem raziskala že prej na instagramu, vendar je rahlo precenjeno. Vse ostalo me je bolj navdušilo, kot pa samo jezero.

Pot vodi mimo številnih jezer, različnih pogledov na vse strani Chamonixa, en del sva morali tudi preplezati, saj je možna pot le s pomočjo kovinske lestve. Ko sva bili na vrhu in v bližini jezera je zelo pihalo in zdelo se je, kot da sva prišli v minus območje. Dobro, da sva imeli s seboj kar dosti oblačil.

Z gondolo sva se vrnili v dolino, se sprehodili skozi mesto po spominke, seveda tudi nekaj sladkega in za to sva izbrali pekarno, ki se je nahajala na drugi strani mesta, vendar je bilo vredno. Vrnili sva se nazaj do apartmaja, se uredili in šli do Ženeve, ki je oddaljena le par kilometrov. Tam sva pustili avtomobil in se sprehodili po mestu do jezera in potem nazaj do avtomobila.
